Mr. Boutwell has refused to specialize in one genre of art
and only limits the scope of his work to Texas. He has been
fortunate enough to make his living exclusively from art for
the past 34 years.
Mr. Boutwell is one of the most prolific artists in Texas, painting
scenes almost exclusively of the Texas landscape. The Texas
Commission on the Arts and the Texas State Legislature honored
Mr. Boutwell by awarding him the “Official Two-Dimensional
Artist of Texas” title for 2006.
