 Robert Summers cont'd.

Summers created the world’s largest bronze for the Pioneer Plaza at the Dallas Convention Center. Completed in the mid-90’s, it took him two and a half years to create the seventy longhorn steers and three horses with riders on a cattle drive.

With no formal art training except for a short course in mixing colors at age 15, where he was told he was wasting his time, he had become better than his instructor, Summers began to explore and expand his talent.  He has worked in various media, ultimately dividing his time between painting & sculpting, describing his flat work as “painterly”.

Summer & his wife, Boo, reside in his boyhood home of Glen Rose, enjoying the wildlife and cowboy spirit of a small Texas town.  He plays bagpipes, practices falconry, sings contemporary Christian music and has played leading roles in several professional productions.
